The altar is the area at the east end of a church, usually behind an iconostasis (altar screen).

The word altar means "a place of sacrifice" in Hebrew.

The altar often is also referred to as the sanctuary.

An Altar Table is located in the center of the altar as one enters through the Royal Doors in the iconostasis.

This table is often referred to as the Holy Table.

Altar Cloth

An altar cloth is used as a sign of respect towards the Holiness of the altar.

The custom of using three altar-cloths began probably in the ninth century, but at present it is of strict obligation for the licit celebration of Divine Liturgy.

Altar Cloth Donation

I would like to see the Church with a selection of colors.
The estimated cost for each color of Altar Cloth is $1,000.

Anyone wishing to make a donation, would be greatly appreciated.
